OUR BEGINNING

Starting with the Minute Repeater

For five years, the team dedicated itself to developing the minute repeater movement in-house. To ensure stability, sound and production consistency, every stage was repeatedly tested and refined. Our aim was not a one-off showcase prototype, but a high-end watchmaking system of our own at Mephalie Atelier—one capable of manufacturing and long-term servicing. In the end, Mephalie Atelier completed its in-house minute repeater movement.

Our Aspiration

Atelier Mephalie was initiated in 2021 by Mr. Lin Xiaolin, its current principal. Bound by a shared goal, we have built it step by step: “The revival of Mephalie is not merely about bringing a historic brand back into the public eye. More importantly, it is about creating products that can once again answer the times.”

Focused on Technique

Atelier Mephalie is equipped with precision machining equipment for movement development and manufacturing, and possesses the in-house capability to produce key movement components. From structural design and prototyping to key component machining, assembly and adjustment, the team can more directly advance technical validation and process refinement—maintaining effective control over the core stages of movement development and manufacturing.

Future Aspirations

For Mephalie, this movement is not the end of the revival, but its starting point. The mission of Atelier Mephalie is to ensure that history is not merely preserved and recounted, but continues to grow today—to give Chinese complex mechanical watchmaking a technical foundation built through continuous accumulation, works of independent expression, and a manufacturing system that can be passed down to the future.
